Never Shout Never concert!

*Yes, I realize for a few people this blog is long overdue, but at least I'm posting it now!!

Okay so quite a while ago my uncle and my mom took two of my friends and me to see Never Shout Never in concert. I had decided before hand that it was going to be birthday surprise for my friend Erin who was involved in my birthday surprise a few months prior; it was sort of like a payback of awesomeness, if you will! So I told Ashley, my other friend who was going with us, not to say a word about the concert or even the fact that she and Erin were going to be picked up from school by my mom and I. We arrived at the school a few minutes before the bell rang for the end of the day, so we waited until the bell rang and then I called Erin and told her that I had to pick something up at the school and for her to meet me in the back parking lot. When she came out my mom told her to get in the car because we were going to kidnap her for the rest of the day. She freaked out a little bit, then got really excited. Her mom brought her overnight bag to the school, Erin took it, we waited for Ashley, and when she got in the car we left to meet my uncle back at the house. Erin still had no idea what was going on; we were just that awesome! We actually made a stop at the dollar store for glow sticks and Erin was still completely clueless, it was great! So, anyways, my enjoyment of Erin's complete cluelessness is completely off topic, but we got to my house and shortly after we arrived my uncle showed up. When my uncle showed up, we all left for San Francisco to enjoy dinner and Erin's unknown birthday surprise.   On the drive up there I played a ton of NSN music, and of course the music from the opening bands, in the car. When we got to San Francisco there was a moment where we didn't exactly know where we were, and Erin tried to convince us she knew everything about San Francisco so that we would tell her where we were going (Erin, if you don't remember this just ask anyone else who was in the car. It happened! :P). Luckily for us, we weren't that gullible and my uncle figured out where we were! So, we got in line for the concert, Erin now knew it was a concert but had no idea who was playing, and my mom and uncle went to get sandwiches for dinner. My friends and I started talking to a couple girls and their mom who were in front of us in line; I told them how it was a surprise and one of the girls was trying as hard as possible to keep Erin from seeing her shirt because it said Never Shout Never. Actually, more than 70% of the people in line were wearing Never Shout Never shirts(including myself) and Erin still had no idea what concert it was! A bunch of girls started getting in line with giant posters that said "I Love Christofer Drew" and "Never Shout Never rocks!" on them, so our random new friends in front of us tried to help me distract Erin. Unfortunately, there was a concert poster on a street lamp a few feet in front of us that could only be hidden until the line started moving... Thankfully, when my mom and uncle returned we were almost to the so at least they got to see her figure it out! She freaked out, like big time; it was pretty awesome! When we got in the venue Erin and I picked out the tshirts we wanted so my mom and uncle could wait in line, but Ashley didn't know what shirt she wanted(this was understandable considering there were so many shirts and they were all awesome!), but it's okay because we got hers later. We had a great spot on the floor to stand that was pretty close to the stage, and even Ashley could see over the people in front of us! We watched Carter Hulsey perform his songs If it Feels, Before we Go Down, and a few others. He is extremely awesome by the way, one of my new favorite artists! Then during icanmakeamesslikenobody'sbusiness' performance everyone was trying to start a moshpit and Ashley turned around to face me with this strange look on her face, and then I was afraid she was going to die because she is so small and could easily get caught in the middle of it all. So I grabbed her hand and we moved out of the middle of the crowd; we then got Erin and moved toward the back of the floor area. Once we got out of the craziness, Ashley turned to me with a big smile and said, "Was that like a legit moshpit!?!" I have to say that may have been the best part of the whole night! Now that we were able to enjoy the show without being afraid of anyone dying in a moshpit, it was time for the Maine to perform. I don't even know what to say about them; if I don't have anything nice to say, should I not say anything at all? Actually I love the Maine, but I seriously don't know what was going on with them. They seemed a little off that night, and it made me really sad and slightly upset with them. But, after them came Never Shout Never to save the night! Opening with Harmony, he had an amazing show and I was kind of shocked at the great reaction from the crowd. This crowd was very different from the last time I saw him; there were actually guys in this crowd and the people actually knew the songs! It was awesome! Therefore I conclude with the statement: Christofer Drew is an amazing artist!!!

I think Ashley and Erin loved it as well, and I hope they had as much fun as I did! Thank you Scott and mom for taking us and putting up with my crazy-teenager-filled concerts!
