Its late and I need to go to sleep, but this is more important. So tonight I went to see Counting Crows (who were incredible by the way, but that's not what this post is about), and when we got there we went straight for the merch table. The first thing I noticed was this super cool tshirt for the opening band. From the moment I saw the shirt I knew I was gonna like this band and their music would be stellar (so naturally, because I'm me, I bought their EP before I had even listened to them play), but they completely exceeded my expectations. Something about them made me really made me really excited about the thought of being in a band one day. The band is fantastic as a whole, but each member is so great for their own reasons. First of all, I must acknowledge Erik, their incredible bass player. Watching him play made me look forward to my future as a bass player, and I hope one day, with practice, my bass will sound as great as his. Then there's Mikey, the drummer, who is crazy talented at what he does and really fun to watch too. And Chris, lead vocalist, who really puts everything he's got into every song. And Aurore, guitarist, who basically is just all around extremely cool and a totally awesome guitar player. So after their set was over I decided I had to buy their tshirt. Which was a good decision on my part, because after the show I was so excited to them hanging out by the merch table. I had the pleasure of having my picture taken with them and getting both my CD and my shirt signed. They were honestly four of the coolest people I've met, and so nice too. So yeah, really good music. Do me a favor and check them out.
